BENEFITS AFTER RETIREMENT FOR POST-65 RETIREES

 

arrow  Post-65 Medical Coverage:  

At age 65, eligible retirees of Emory University and Emory Healthcare will transition from Emory’s medical plan with Aetna to a Medicare health insurance exchange. For more about this, click here.

Post-65 retirees will shop for and purchase an individual plan that works with their Medicare coverage. Emory has partnered with OneExchange, a company that is experienced in helping retirees evaluate and enroll in Medicare supplemental insurance.

Note: Emory employees hired after December 31, 2002 may access the services of OneExchange, however, they are not eligible for the HRA contributions.

 

arrow  Dental and Vision:  

Upon retirement, you have the option to continue Aetna Traditional dental coverage.  

Vision coverage may be continued through COBRA or you may opt to add Retiree Vision during any Retiree Annual Enrollment Period.

Dental and vision plans are also available through One Exchange.  Consider all of your options before deciding where or if you will enroll.

arrow  Life Insurance:

Basic Life Insurance:  Emory will provide basic life insurance of $10,000 for retirees retiring from a regular full-time or part-time position (at least 20 hours per week).

 

OTHER BENEFITS

 

arrow  EmoryCard:  

Your current EmoryCard serves as your official ID during retirement. If you do not have an EmoryCard and you would like to obtain one, please visit the EmoryCard Services office located at 101 Boisfeuillet Jones Center during normal business hours; M-F, 8:30am – 4:30pm.  For more information regarding EmoryCard Services, please visit: www.emory.edu/emorycard.

 

arrow  Courtesy Scholarship:

Courtesy Scholarship eligibility continues for undergraduate and graduate courses for Emory retirees; spouse/same-sex domestic partner and eligible children are eligible for undergraduate courses. arrow  Parking: 

Yearly parking permit is available at no cost if you are not receiving compensation from Emory. Contact Transportation and Parking: 404-727-7275.

 

arrow  Library Access: 

Retired Emory faculty and staff may continue to view library websites and the library catalog (discoverE).  Contact individual libraries for borrowing privileges.  Remote access to electronic resources and databases is not a benefit, but retired Emory faculty and staff are welcome to come into the Emory Libraries to use designated workstations to access electronic library resources.


arrow  Emory E-mail: 

Continuation of your Emory e-mail address, which can be accessed via the Outlook Web Application at www.email.emory.edu.

 

arrow  Discounts: 

You are eligible for the following discount programs:

Sparkfly - You can continue to receive discounts through Emory's employee discount program administered by Sparkfly.

Discount Tickets - Discounts on cultural and special event admission tickets provided by Emory's Ticket and Information Center. For current prices and ticket availability call: 404-727-8425. For campus information call: 404-727-4636.

Fitness Centers - You can continue membership in the Blomeyer Health Fitness Center (404-727-4600) and/or Woodruff Physical Education Center (404-727-6547).

Emory University Travel Program - The Emory Travel Program is available to all travel enthusiasts who wish to enrich cultural experiences or enhance lifelong education while making connections with others.  For more information about the Emory Travel program, please contact the Emory Alumni Association at 404-727-6400.
