The past seven months have been the most stressful – physically and emotionally – that I have ever experienced. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, and my care included two surgeries and two ICU admissions.
A call from my Aetna nurse was my special care. She has been sympathetic, encouraging and uplifting. We've laughed in the middle of all this, and I have come to know a true friend. She has been a confidant for me, and our relationship was especially unique because I am also a nurse. Our conversations can include the technical language that family and other friends aren’t able to understand.
As I am now mending, I find myself thankful for all I've learned about myself and how important gratitude can be in healing. I appreciate the care that my Aetna nurse has given me.
