- Performance Management for New Hires/Newly Promoted Managers
This training will provide you with an understanding of Emory’s competencies and ratings. Class content will include: a review of the performance competencies, definitions, behavioral examples, and exercises to practice using the competencies. All newly-hired or recently-promoted faculty and staff who manage and evaluate direct reports are strongly encouraged to participate in this training. (Note: online training is also offered in ELMS for those who cannot attend in person.) March 31 (1:30-4:30 pm), Room 5C.
Advanced Training for Managers:
For those managers who are interested in developing their performance management skills, we have added three advanced classes that provide additional strategies and tools to enhance your leadership skills.
- Performance Management: Goal Setting – Learn how to set appropriate SMART goals for employees and how to add these goals to the PeopleSoft tool. April 11 (1:30 – 3:30 pm), Room 1D
- Performance Management: Performance Feedback – Learn how to actively engage in dialogue with employees and provide greater feedback by using the STAR and STAR-AR strategies. April 18 (1:30 – 3:30 pm); Room 1.432.
- Performance Management: Recognizing and Motivating your Employees – You will actively share different ideas with other managers on how to provide recognition and motivation using the MAP process (mastery, autonomy, and purpose). April 25 (1:30 – 3:30 pm); Room 1.432.
