New Online Orientation Website for New Hires
The Emory University Human Resources department is pleased to announce the new Online Orientation website. Beginning this month, Emory will provide the new employee with an Online Orientation website that allows the employee to engage and contribute more quickly.
The Online Orientation website allows newly hired faculty and staff to complete a variety of activities on-line prior to their first day of employment, including:
- Completion of important, required documentation* – Personal Information verification, I-9, W4, and G4.
- Reviewing and reading important, required information* – Policies, Trust Line, and Emory Health and Safety.
- Reviewing the benefits and services available to employees** – Parking & Transportation, Payroll, and Human Resources.
- Learning about the history and culture of the University – Welcome from President Wagner, Emory’s history, vision statement and Strategic Plan, as well as information on the Arts, Athletics, Community Involvement, etc.
* Each of these sections requires an electronic signature that is stored and tracked via a database.
**Should the employee want additional information regarding Emory’s medical benefits they can sign-up for an in-person review session through the online orientation website.
The Online Orientation website is a tool and on-line process that will facilitate orientation to Emory. It ensures that faculty and staff are provided essential information and the opportunity to begin their orientation to Emory immediately after the hiring offer is made. The website also ensures that Emory acquires and maintains certain required documents in order to be compliant with federal and state regulations.
Additionally, by eliminating the required in-person orientation and replacing it with a refined online system, Human Resources and the University will recognize time and cost savings. Most importantly though, this new tool will help us provide a positive experience for new employees, reinforcing their employment decision, as well as streamlining the backend process so that new employee information is entered into the system much sooner.
