PeopleSoft HR Self Service Availability July 28-31
Human Resources, Payroll and UTS are in the process of upgrading its PeopleSoft system for enhanced functionality. As a result, the system will be temporarily shut down starting at 5 p.m. on July 28 and will not be available until 6 a.m. on August 1, 2011. Faculty and staff will have limited access to self service functions during this time. Additionally, HR Reps will not be able to enter any changes into the system during the shutdown period. The new system will go live on August 1 and will offer a new look and feel as well as some improved features. This upgrade is for the HR system only and the shutdown does not affect other PeopleSoft systems which are utilized by Emory such as OPUS and Compass.
What you need to know
- System Shutdown. The self service system will be shut down on Thursday July 28 at 5 p.m. through Monday August 1 at 6 a.m. During this period, you will not be able to access employee self service to make changes to personal and payroll information or to complete benefits enrollment. However, you will be able to use the links within self service to access learning management, exempt leave tracking, FMLA/medical leave, tuition assistance, or to apply for jobs internally. You will also be able to view your paychecks during the shutdown as a read-only version of paychecks will be available.
- What will be different as a result of the upgrade? As of August 1, the upgrade will be complete and you will notice a few changes and improvements to self service:
- New look and feel. There will be a slight difference in the look and feel of self service; for example, the navigation menu will be displayed horizontally across the top of the web page rather than appear on the left hand side.
- New look for paychecks. Paychecks will now be available as a one-page, printable pdf making it easier for you to provide paperwork when applying for mortgages, loans, etc. The new version will also provide accumulative YTD (Year to Date) data, including leave balances for biweekly paid employees. Paychecks created prior to the update will still be presented in the old format.
- New Feature - My Profile. A new self service feature, My Profile, will allow you to view and update your education (degrees), licenses and certifications, memberships, and honors and awards.
- Internet Browser Requirements. The following browsers are certified to work with PeopleSoft Version 9.1: Firefox 3.6, Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Safari 3, Safari 4, and Safari 5. As of August 1, if you are not using one of these browsers to access the Internet, you will not be able to access self service through PeopleSoft.
