Hardship Fund Nears Its Goal - But Needs Your Help
Have you made your contribution to the Emory University Hardship Fund? The fund is $3,000 away from its goal, and needs your support. Your monthly contribution through payroll deduction will ensure the fund can help employees in need.
Funded solely by donations from Emory University’s faculty and staff, the Fund is designed to assist faculty and staff members who are experiencing a temporary financial hardship due to a catastrophic event, such as a death in the family, unusual uninsured medical expenses or losses due to natural disasters.
In order to ensure sufficient resources are available to applicants, the Fund must raise a base balance of $15,000 in donations before opening the program for applications. Your donation through monthly payroll deduction will also help sustain the fund for future use.
Employees may donate to the fund through
PeopleSoft Employee Self Service: http://leo.cc.emory.edu. (View presentation on how to access through PeopleSoft)
Once $15,000 in donations has been raised, employees will then be able to apply for assistance through a confidential application process. Eligible applicants must be regular full or part-time employees, working at least 20 hours per week and be in good standing with a minimum of one year of service. Approval is subject to extent of need and the availability of funds.
