Get Your Flu Shot this Fall!
Emory’s faculty and staff have several options for getting a flu shot this year:
Kroger Pharmacy. Once again, benefits-eligible employees will have the option of downloading a voucher to receive a flu shot free of charge at a Kroger Pharmacy. You can download from the FSAP web site beginning October 1. Non-benefits eligible employees can download a coupon to receive a flu shot at a discounted price of $21. Take your voucher (or coupon) and a photo ID to a Kroger Pharmacy between October 1 and December 31, 2012. No appointment necessary! Find your nearest Kroger Pharmacy at www.kroger.com or call 1.800.KROGERS.
Your Doctor’s Office. For employees covered under one of Emory’s medical plans, flu shots are considered “preventive care” which means it’s free at your doctor’s office (in-network doctors only). Be sure to take your Aetna medical card with you.
Other Pharmacy. Several local pharmacies offer flu shots (CVS, Walgreens, etc.). This year, employees on the Aetna POS Plus or POS Value Plans can get a free flu shot at any pharmacy that accepts Medco. You will need to present your Medco card. Get a shot anytime; there is no need to wait until October. Note: Employees on the HDHP Plan do not have Medco, so this option is not available – use option 1 or 2.
IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR EMPLOYEES WHO WORK IN AN EMORY HEALTHCARE FACILITY:
As a reminder, any Emory University employee who works in an Emory Healthcare setting is REQUIRED to get a flu shot. If you are an EU Physician or EU Employee working in an EHC facility, you should attend an EHC flu marathon to ensure proper documentation. Visit the intranet (www.ourehc.org) for the schedule. Emory Healthcare will offer its annual flu marathon beginning next month (dates, times and locations will be announced later), but. If you choose to get a flu shot at one of the methods above rather than attend the flu marathon, be sure to forward the necessary documentation to Employee Health to validate that you did receive a flu shot this year.
