Focus on Your Development in 2021
The FY21 performance management cycle began shortly before winter break. The first step in the process, the “start” step, is an opportunity for you to set any goals you and/or your Supervisor wish you to pursue. Please consider adding a developmental goal this year. An easy way to begin is to pursue some of the great, FREE training available through LinkedIn Learning! Pick some courses that will help you build the skills you need and take some time to develop yourself – all supervisors should support setting aside some time for personal development. Many LinkedIn learning courses are one hour or less and cover a wide variety of topics, from computer skills to communication. And of course, don’t forget the many opportunities available through Learning and OD! |

Emory’s Better Choice Label Is Here!
When it comes to eating, selecting the best nutritional option can be challenging. To take some of the guess work out of it, Emory diners can now simply look for the Better Choice label. Watch this video to learn how! Menu items marked with the Better Choice label include fresh produce, whole grains and lean or plant-based proteins. They are also lower in saturated fat, sodium, and added sugar. Even if a person chooses a Better Choice option only half of the time, it is still one step toward improving their overall health. |

Every time you enter an Emory dining facility, keep your eyes peeled for the Better Choice. Earn points towards your medical incentive dollars in Healthy Emory Connect by participating in Better Choice Campaign activities through February 14. - The Sandwich Generation: Strategies for Multigenerational Caregiving
February 1, 2021, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Almost 25 percent of all families are currently dealing with elder care issues—while raising young children at home. Since this percentage is expected to increase to as many as 60 percent of all families in the next decade, this seminar provides a timely overview of how to cope as a member of the “sandwich generation.” Register.
- Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health
February 2, 2021, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Despite one-in-five children having a diagnosable mental health problem, nearly two-thirds of them get little or no help. This session aims to help attendees recognize the signs and provide the right support to a child, which can often lead to early identification, diagnosis, and treatment. Register.
- Caring for Aging Relatives
March 9, 2021, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Learn how to determine the best level of care for an aging relative. As the pandemic continues, it becomes more challenging to manage older adult care both within a household and through managed communities. Older relatives may require more care than family or neighbors can provide. Many younger relatives then face the difficult decision of seeking the right kind of outside care. This seminar is a helpful first step. Presented by WorkPlace Options. Register.
