Workplace Flexibility Survey Coming Soon
Partnering with the Department of Institutional Research, The Emory WorkLife Resource Center will be re-assessing workplace flexibility practices at the university by repeating a survey that they conducted together in 2011. The survey will be emailed by the Department of Institutional Research on March 2 to all staff at the university. All staff are strongly encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the confidential survey. The survey will remain open through March 13 at 5PM and should take between 5-10 minutes to complete. Emory’s Camp & Learning Expo 2015 was a hit again this year! Approximately 300 staff and faculty were able to browse a large selection of summer camp programs which also featured several new camps and learning opportunities. Staff Fest will take place on Friday, May 15, 2015, celebrating the 2014-2015 academic year and showing appreciation to our staff members for the hard work and support they provide to the university all year. We want your ideas for the 2015 Staff Fest Theme/Slogan! The selected winning slogan will be used on the 2015 Staff Fest t-shirt and the contest winner will receive a $25 gift card to Emory’s Barnes and Noble bookstore and more. Performance Management Class for Supervisors
Learning and Organizational Development is offering an in-person training session on performance management for supervisors. Any supervisor new to Emory or who did not participate in last year’s performance review cycle in a supervisory role should take this course. - Grief & Loss Support Group - will meet Thursdays, March 5 – April 9, 2015 (6 sessions), from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm at the FSAP Main Office - Conference Room, 1762 Clifton Rd, Suite 1100. New Intimate Partner Violence Training Course
Learn to identify the signs and understand the impact of intimate partner violence (IPV), and how to respond to it in the workplace with this new training course. HR Reps, supervisors, managers, and staff will gain understanding and real-time skills for addressing this important issue. The Emory WorkLife Resource Center’s Workshop series for Caregivers is designed to help employees and their families manage some of the most common and complex issues pertaining to caring for an aging or sick adult. Caring for loved ones can be difficult when working full time and handling daily life. These workshops provide caregivers the guidance and knowledge to manage these challenging topics. Learn more. |

Emory University Woman’s Club Hosts Dinner and Silent Auction March 14
The Emory University Woman’s Club, which has served Emory since 1919, will have its annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction on Saturday, March 14th. Each year since 2005, the club has selected an Emory activity as beneficiary of the funds raised. This year, proceeds from the dinner will benefit Rollins School of Public Health, for enhancing scholarships for women graduate students working on women’s health issues. Some of the recent beneficiaries have been the Michael C. Carlos Museum’s Field Trip Program, the Meditation Garden at Wesley Woods Hospital, Emory Children’s Center Pediatric Infusion Center, and the Vega Quartet’s Outreach Program. Attendees have a great time with tempting and affordable items to bid on during the silent auction. There will be entertainment and a wonderful meal. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation for this year’s worthy beneficiary. The dinner and auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Miller-Ward Alumni House on Houston Mill Road.
