Changes to Performance Management for 2015 and Upward Feedback
After launching a new performance management tool last year, HR conducted a survey to get feedback on the process and the new online system. As a result, improvements have been made for 2015. One new feature will give staff the opportunity to provide feedback about their supervisor to their supervisor's leader. Read more. |

Performance Management Training for New Managers
Performance Management training for new managers (or those that would like a refresher) will be offered on May 13, form 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in Room 1D of 1599 Clifton. Training is also available June 1, from 1:30 – 4:30 (Room 1.432). Please sign up in ELMS. Advanced training in performance management (for managers) will also be offered on May 27, from 1:00-5:00 (Room 1.432). And, as a reminder, online training is also available at any time for both managers and non-managers via ELMS. |

Service Awards – Changes in 5-year Gift
Eligible staff members who are celebrating a five-year anniversary will receive a presentation box with a customized Lucite framed certificate, a congratulatory letter and a two-piece coaster set with the Emory logo (in previous years, 5-year honorees selected a catalog gift). Employees celebrating 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years of service will also receive the boxed certificate and letter, but will select a gift from a catalog of options. The selected gift will be shipped to their home address. |

Flex Information Session: An Introduction to the Benefits of Workplace Flexibility
This one-hour introductory workshop is open to any university manager that has an interest in creating a more flexible work environment within their business unit at Emory. Presented by Audrey Adelson, Work-Life Consultant at the Emory WorkLife Resource Center, the workshop will cover the impact of flexibility in the workplace and shed light on the current state of flexibility at Emory. Introducing Emory Care Consultation
The Emory WorkLife Resource Center now offers Care Consultation to university faculty and staff with adult caregiving responsibilities. The consultation is provided by a work-life specialist with a professional background in the field of aging who will help employees navigate the resources available to help them manage their care responsibilities. Emory’s Caregiver Programs Featured on PBS
Emory’s caregiver programs continue to receive national accolades and Emory is routinely cited as a best practice workplace in this area. A new documentary, Caring for Mom and Dad, which airs on Georgia Public Broadcasting this month specifically sought out Emory to provide background and guidance for the film’s content. Emory’s Pre-College Program Accepting Applications
The Emory Pre-College Program is a summer academic program for high school students. It gives college-bound rising juniors and rising seniors an exciting glimpse of academic and residential life at a top-ranked national university. High school students may explore topics with professors who are the leading experts in their fields, enroll in classes with college students, and earn transferable college credit. Two-week non-credit courses, three-week non-credit institutes and six-week credit courses are available. Emory Pre-College students live together in a dorm on campus or within commuting distance with their families and participate in a variety of programs, activities, and excursions designed to prepare them for college life. Success with Stress: A Stress Management Workshop Series
We all have stress, but learning how to deal with it can be tricky. The stress management workshops are designed to help you successfully manage your stress. They are free and open to employees of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. Two workshops are offered as webinars, so you don’t even have to leave your desk! Pre-registration is required.
