Staff Fest Celebrated on May 15
Staff Fest 2015 was held on Friday, May 15th and thousands of Emory employees came out for a day of fun on the quad. An annual tradition at Emory, Staff Fest is always celebrated on the first Friday after commencement to show appreciation to university staff members for the hard work and support they provide to the university year-round. |

Changes to Performance Management for 2015 and Upward Feedback
After launching a new performance management tool last year, HR conducted a survey to get feedback on the process and the new online system. As a result, improvements have been made for 2015. One new feature will give staff the opportunity to provide feedback about their supervisor to their supervisor's leader. Read more. |

Performance Management Training
Performance Management training for New Managers (or those that would like a refresher) will be offered on June 1, from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. (Room 1.432, 1599 Clifton). Advanced training in performance management (for managers) will also be offered on May 27, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. (Room 1.432). Online training is also available at any time for both managers and non-managers via ELMS. And, there is a new webinar available online: Demonstration of the Upward Feedback feature of the PeopleSoft Performance Management Tool. Sign up for all of these is through ELMS. |

Stress Less with Healthy Nutrition Habits (Online Webinar)
Do you find yourself making unhealthy eating choices? Are you stressed about health issues, weight gain/loss or overspending on food? Workshop Series for Caregivers
The Emory WorkLife Resource Center’s workshop series for Caregivers is designed to help employees and their families manage some of the most common and complex issues pertaining to caring for an aging or sick adult. Caring for loved ones can be difficult when working full time and handling daily life. These workshops provide caregivers the guidance and knowledge to manage these challenging topics. The Caregiver Workshop Series this summer will address matters such as nutrition for caregivers, end of life discussions, and caring for a mentally ill family member. Learn more. |

Flex Information Session: An Introduction to the Benefits of Workplace Flexibility
This one-hour introductory workshop is open to any university manager that has an interest in creating a more flexible work environment within their business unit at Emory. Presented by Audrey Adelson, Work-Life Consultant at the Emory WorkLife Resource Center, the workshop will cover the impact of flexibility in the workplace and shed light on the current state of flexibility at Emory. P.R.I.D.E. - A Free Class for Teen Drivers and Their Parents
P.R.I.D.E. is a free, two-hour course designed to help parents and their new teen drivers, ages 14-16, learn what they need to do during the 40 hours of supervised practice driving time (40) hours of supervised practice driving time is required, if the teen successfully completes driver’s education. The program seeks to reduce the high number of crashes, injuries and fatalities involving teen drivers in the state of Georgia. The program will address driver attitude, knowledge and behavior, rather than technical hands-on driver skills. It will complement driver education and training; it is not a replacement for these courses.

Emory’s Pre-College Program Accepting Applications
The Emory Pre-College Program is a summer academic program for high school students. It gives college-bound rising juniors and rising seniors an exciting glimpse of academic and residential life at a top-ranked national university. High school students may explore topics with professors who are the leading experts in their fields, enroll in classes with college students, and earn transferable college credit. Two-week non-credit courses, three-week non-credit institutes and six-week credit courses are available. Emory Pre-College students live together in a dorm on campus or within commuting distance with their families and participate in a variety of programs, activities, and excursions designed to prepare them for college life.
