Great American Smokeout is Thursday, November 17th
The American Cancer Society started this national event to encourage tobacco cessation by establishing an official quit day. Emory will be celebrating the Great American Smokeout (GASO) by encouraging all employees to be even healthier by spreading the word of our tobacco cessation programs and resources, online tobacco education webinars and highlighting employee support/words of motivation. Stand in solidarity with others.

On November 12, the Emory community is invited to join with alumni and friends around the world for Emory Cares International Service Day, a signature program of the Emory Alumni Association. In partnership with Volunteer Emory and Volunteer Oxford and co-sponsored by the Emory WorkLife Resource Center, this annual service event has increased its volunteer participation each year since it was founded in 2003. |

Recognizing Bumps in the Road: Early Intervention Strategies for Young Children
Children develop at varying ages and stages. Early recognition of challenges in physical growth, temperament, attachment, social skills or a child’s ability to control emotion can be extremely helpful.
Kari Saxton, Early Intervention Specialist at The Clifton Schools will facilitate a discussion about typical early childhood development. She will review key milestones of social, emotional, and physical development in children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Ms. Saxton will provide insight to help parents recognize possible developmental delays or learning and attention issues. She will point out resources in our community to help families with evaluation and treatment.
