Summer College Internships

College students in the middle of their academic careers can gain valuable, hands-on experience with Emory University's summer college internship program.

About the Program

Emory University’s summer college internship program offers a 10-week (June 3 to August 9, 2024) and 12-week (June 3 to August 30, 2024) option. The program is open to:

  • Rising sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students enrolled at accredited colleges or universities
  • Those in good academic standing
  • Those willing to work flexible schedule
  • Those willing to commit minimally to the 10-week program dates
  • Those living in Georgia, and commutable to our campus, for the duration of the internship

The deadline to apply is May 3, 2024. The internship pay is $17.00 per hour for undergraduate students and $18.50 per hour for graduate students.

An optional Summer Intern Housing Program is available for students who need housing.

To Hire an Intern

If you are a hiring manager at Emory University, we invite you to consider hiring a summer intern through the Emory Temporary Services (ETS) Internship Program. The 10-week program is from June 3 – August 9, 2024, with an option to extend through August 30, 2024.

Interns must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at an accredited college or university in good academic standing. Interns must live in the state of Georgia and be able to commute to campus for the duration of the of the program.

The deadline for departments to request a summer intern (requisition created and approved) is Friday, May 3, 2024. The minimum pay rate for an undergraduate intern is $17.00 per hour (department cost $20.16 per hour) and the minimum pay rate for a graduate intern is $18.50 per hour (department cost $23.31 per hour).

Steps:

  1. Open a requisition with the recruitment type of Emory Temporary Services (ETS)
  2. Choose Job code ETS99
  3. Enter ‘ETS Internship Program’ in the Reason for Temp field on the ETS Values tab
  4. Choose Kelly Edwards or Chelsee Wernecke as the Recruiter on your Requisition
  5. Include any additional job description details
  6. Once approved, we will begin to provide you with potential students to consider

Departments must finalize their intern selections by Friday, May 10 to ensure the pre-employment will be completed in time for the June 3 program kick off. The ETS team will coordinate the orientation, including I9, card services, and parking pass.
