EU Hardship Fund Now Open for Donations

hardshipfundEmory University has opened the Emory University Hardship Fund for donations.

Funded solely by donations from Emory University’s faculty and staff, the Fund is designed to assist faculty and staff members who are experiencing a temporary financial hardship due to a catastrophic event, such as a death in the family, unusual uninsured medical expenses or losses due to natural disasters.

In order to ensure sufficient resources are available to applicants, the Fund must raise a base balance of $15,000 in donations before opening the program for applications. Employees may donate to the fund through:

The Emory University Hardship Fund Website
: www.emory.edu/hardshipfund  (credit card or direct bill);

The My Emory Campaign website
: www.campaign.emory.edu (credit card or direct bill); or

PeopleSoft Employee Self Service
: http://leo.cc.emory.edu. (View presentation on how to access through PeopleSoft)

Once $15,000 in donations has been raised, employees will then be able to apply for assistance through a confidential application process. Eligible applicants must be regular full or part-time employees, working at least 20 hours per week and be in good standing with a minimum of one year of service. Approval is subject to extent of need and the availability of funds.

For more information on donating to the fund, visit www.emory.edu/hardshipfund.
