Emory Healthcare Tunnel Makeover Promotes Daily Walking
If you’ve traveled through the underground tunnel connecting Emory University Hospital (EUH) and the Center for Rehabilitation Medicine (CRM) recently, you may have noticed some colorful changes to its appearance. New Georgia-themed murals now decorate the hallways and are designed to encourage walking there. When the project is fully complete, the murals will extend the entire length of the tunnel between EUH and CRM spotlighting five different regions of the state through local facts, fitness ideas and nutritional recipes developed by the EHC Food & Nutrition Services department. The mural also features a regional soundtrack of nature sounds.
The tunnel loop is a great quick exercise break, and the tour provides the perfect opportunity to emphasize the importance of health and wellness. The first region featured in the Journey Across Georgia murals is coastal Georgia. Be sure to take a stroll down the tunnel to learn more about Georgia’s coastline, and check back often for future additions to the Journey Across Georgia!
