Breast Cancer Awareness Month
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is celebrating over 25 years of awareness, empowerment, and education this October. Dedicated to the prevention, detection, and comprehensive treatment of breast health issues and breast cancer, the Emory Breast Center and Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University are hosting a wide variety of events all month long around the metro-area. Some highlights include:
The Emory Breast Center is offering a free clinical breast exam for Emory employees. Extended hours for mammogram screening also will be offered (standard rates apply).
Get out there and be active for a great cause! The first annual 5K Winship Run will be held October 15th morning at Emory University's McDonough Field. And don’t forget to join us during your lunch break for a live breast health web chat with Winship at Emory breast surgeon Dr. Toncred Styblo on October 4th at noon.
Remember early detection is important for optimal breast health and cancer treatment. The full lists of events can be seen at https://www.emoryhealthcare.org/breast-health/events.html
