October is Domestic/Intimate Partner Violence Awareness Month
Throughout the month, Emory is providing an array of services and resources to increase awareness of Intimate Partner Violence among leaders and staff of Emory University and Emory Healthcare. Panel discussions, support sessions and resources will all be offered throughout the month.
Panel discussions:
- An Inside Look at Intimate Partner Violence, with Betty Woodman, PhD, Harland Cinema, 10/21/13, 6 p.m.
- Scholarship and Partner Violence – panel of staff and community leaders, School of Nursing, 10/24/13, 12 noon.
Support sessions:
- What Can I Do? – When Intimate Partner Violence touches my life – Sessions will provide practical steps about how to address your concerns and worries about someone you care about. There are things you can do and ways to make a difference. Co-facilitated by DeMett Jenkins, MDiv, Staff Chaplain and Paula Gomes, PsyD, Executive Director, FSAP & Psychologist. Sessions held on October 23, from 12 – 1 p.m., EUH, Classroom D; and October 30, 12 – 1 p.m. at EUHM, MOT 1.
