Staff Fest 2014 - May 16, 2014

Retiree Medical Coverage to Change
Beginning Sept. 1, Emory will change the way retiree medical coverage will be provided for current Medicare-eligible retirees. Emory University and Emory Healthcare retirees, and their covered spouses or same sex domestic partners (SSDPs) who are over the age of 65, will transition from Emory's medical plan with Aetna to a Medicare health insurance exchange. This change will allow retirees to shop for and purchase an individual plan that works with their Medicare coverage. Read more. |

Performance Management Online Tool Now Available
The new online performance management tool that will be used for the 2014 Performance Reviews is now available in Self-Service/PeopleSoft. A step-by-step guide for managers has also been developed to assist managers/supervisors in navigating the system. A step-by-step guide for employees (direct reports) will be available in the near future. |

Emory on Coursera: Ancient Nubia's Art and Archaeology
Peter Lacovara, Senior Curator of Ancient Egyptian, Nubian and Near Eastern Art at Emory University's Michael C. Carlos Museum, is offering an expert glimpse into the development of art and civilization in the Nile Valley through Coursera, an Emory partner for MOOCs (massive open online courses). The course, "The Art and Archaeology of Ancient Nubia," examines fascinating evidence from archaeological findings of Nubia, Egypt's neighbor to the south and home to a series of remarkable and innovative civilizations. Check Out the WorkLife Library
With the recent introduction of Emory’s Professional Care Management Program, the Emory WorkLife Resource Center has also partnered with LifeCare, Inc. to provide access to a WorkLife Library to help all employees of the university. The password protected online library enables university employees to better manage their work-life demands by providing access to additional resources and tools, beyond existing programming currently offered through the Emory WorkLife Resource Center. Categories include pregnancy, child care, adoption, education, adult care, special needs, legal, financial and much more! Learn more. |

Are YOU ready for retirement? RSVP today for the Emory University Emeritus College (EUEC) Retirement Seminar held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 4:30 p.m. in Room 301 at the Goizueta Business School. Professor Jeffery N. Pennell is the Richard H. Clark Professor of Law at Emory University. He teaches estate and gift tax, wills and trusts, income tax, estate planning, and legal ethics and will discuss wills, trusts, and estate planning during the seminar. Dr. Carl C.
