Winter Recess 2021

Emory University closes most academic and administrative offices for Winter Recess, the three days between the Christmas and New Year holidays. For 2021, the Winter Recess days are Dec. 28, 29 and 30. These three Winter Recess days are not holidays but are provided in addition to the scheduled University holidays of Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve), Dec.  27 (Christmas Day Observed), Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve), 2021, and Jan. 3, (New Year’s Day Observed), 2022.  Learn more.

FY2022 Performance Management Forms Have Launched
As a reminder: all new Performance Management forms have been created for FY22.  As in years past, rather than waiting until the end of the year to complete your performance evaluation forms (either for yourself or for your direct reports), you can write on these forms throughout the year at your convenience. This eliminates the need for notes, reviewing old emails and calendar events, or simply trying to remember!

  • Step 1 (now) – Log into PeopleSoft > Performance Management. Choose your FY22 review form and you will see the “Start” step to the left. Write in any goals and responsibilities you want to emphasize for the upcoming year (in the “goals” and “responsibilities” sections).  Your supervisor can then discuss these with you and approve them. SETTING ANNUAL GOALS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
  • Step 2 – Once approved, you can then update your progress throughout the year. By keeping your forms updated year-round, you won’t forget important accomplishments. And, by the time your mid-year and year-end forms are due, you will be practically done!  **Please note that employees hired after the FY22 form launch, must have their PM form individually created by their manager or HR Rep as part of their onboarding process.

More information about Emory University’s Performance Management process can also be found on the Performance Management webpage.
