Accidental Death and Dismemberment
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provides coverage for non-job related accidental dismemberment or accidental death.
About AD&D Coverage
You must have coverage for yourself in order to purchase coverage for your spouse or child(ren).
You can purchase AD&D for you and your spouse in increments of $10,000 (up to $250,000).
You can purchase coverage for dependent child(ren) at levels of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000. The coverage you select for your spouse or your child(ren) cannot be more than the coverage you elect for yourself.
Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is not required to enroll in this benefit.
Eligibility
- Regular full-time or part-time employees scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week are eligible.
- Full-time temporary positions on a six-month or longer assignment are eligible.
- If you elect coverage for yourself, you can also cover your spouse or children.
Coverage begins on an employee's date of hire. If you are benefits-eligible, you must enroll during your first 31 days of employment with Emory.
