Leave for Staff
Paid Leave
Paid leave includes holidays, floating holidays, vacation and sick leave, and paid parental leave as well as other types of leave for jury duty, voting and more. Eligible employees are those working at least 20 hours per week.
Unpaid Leave
Unpaid leave includes medical leave (FMLA and non-FMLA), educational leave, seasonal leave, personal leave and military leave. Eligible employees are those working at least 20 hours per week.
Administrative Leave
Departments may place an employee on administrative leave with or without pay to provide time to investigate and evaluate the circumstances regarding a pending action. The department must consult with Human Resources prior to placing an employee on administrative leave.
Leave for Faculty
If circumstances require a faculty member to take a leave of absence from employment, Emory provides appropriate options. These include: Salary Continuation, Medical Leave (Non-FMLA), Leaves under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Military Leave, Personal Leave, Educational Leave and Administrative Leave.
Leave for Post Docs
Postdoctoral fellows have different leave policies than university faculty and staff.
