Life Insurance
Emory provides term life insurance at no charge for eligible Medical House Staff and their eligible spouses and dependent children between birth to 18 years of age. Coverage for dependent children may continue through the age of 26 provided the child is not married.

Eligibility
Regular full-time or part-time employees scheduled to work 20 hours or more per week are eligible.Coverage begins on an employee's date of hire.
Cost
There is no cost for term life insurance.
How to Enroll
No enrollment is necessary. This benefit is automatically provided when an employee is eligible.
Although there is no cost to cover your spouse and/or children, you must enroll them for coverage using Self-Service.
Designate a Beneficiary
Since Emory provides you with term life insurance, you should designate a beneficiary.
Your beneficiary is the person(s) who will receive your life insurance benefits when you (or your covered dependents) die. Your beneficiary can be one person or multiple people, charitable institutions or your estate.
Once named, your beneficiary remains on file until you make a change. If your family situation changes, you will want to review the beneficiaries on file and make updates if necessary. If you do not name a beneficiary, your life insurance benefits will be distributed in accordance with the policy.
