At the beginning of each month, Emory University's faculty and staff receive News You Can Use, the HR Division's newsletter. Get the latest updates on upcoming events, benefits and programs, featured employee discounts, news from around campus, and more!

Submission Guidelines

What to submit

Submit a news item and/or an event, workshop, or webinar. For news items, keep your description brief, focusing on the who, what, why, where, and when. Share a link to a webpage where readers can find more information on your news item. For events, workshops, or webinars, please choose 1 event that you’d like to highlight for the month. 

HR stories will be given priority. News from outside HR will be included in the News Around Campus section of the newsletter.

When to submit

News You Can Use will run once a month. Please submit your requests 2 weeks before the run date. Here are the issue and submission dates for 2024:

  • Monday, February 5, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, January 22, 2024
  • Monday, March 4, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, February 19, 2024
  • Monday, April 1, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, March 18, 2024
  • Monday, May 6, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, April 22, 2024
  • Monday, June 3, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, May 20, 2024
  • Monday, July 1, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, June 17, 2024
  • Monday, August 5, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, July 22, 2024
  • Tuesday, September 3, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, August 19, 2024
  • Monday, October 7, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, September 23, 2024
  • Monday, November 4, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, October 21, 2024
  • Monday, December 2, 2024 issue — submit news items by Monday, November 18, 2024

How to submit

Send in your submissions using the form linked below. The form includes fields for you to add all the details relevant to your news item, event, workshop, or webinar. All submissions come directly to the News You Can Use inbox, so you can be assured we won’t miss it!
