Emory’s Favorite Pet Contest

Entry Guidelines

Criteria

• Pet owners must be regular, full-time staff of Emory University.
• Any type of pet will be allowed. Individual pets only. 
• Only one entry per employee. The photo should be only of the pet being entered (no people included in the photo).
• Minor digital enhancements such as cropping or red-eye removal are permitted, but images that are determined to be significantly altered will be disqualified.
• Photos should recent (taken within the last 6 months).
• If you are selected as a finalist (top two finalists), you and your pet must be available to (virtually) attend the Staff Fest Variety Show on Friday, May 21 between 1:00-2:00 pm.

Judging 

• All submitted photos that meet the above criteria will be reviewed by a selection committee which will narrow to the top sixteen pets. The top sixteen will then be placed into a bracket for voting beginning on Monday, May 17. The final two pet owners (and pets) will be asked to attend the Staff Fest Variety Show on Friday, May 21 from 1:00-2:00 pm. Attendees of Staff Fest will vote live for the 2021 Emory’s Favorite Pet winner. 

Prizes 

• The top two finalists will win a gift card.*  

Submitting your Photo

Submit your photo no later than 11:59 pm on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Important Dates

• Monday, May 10, 2021: All entries must be received no later than 11:59 pm on Monday, May 10, 2021.
• Monday, May 17, 2021: First round of voting will open for top 16 pets.
• Tuesday, May 18, 2021: Second round of voting will open for top 8 pets.
• Wednesday, May 19, 2021: Third round of voting will open for final 4 pets.
• Friday, May 21, 2021: Staff Fest! The final two pets (and their owners) will be invited to attend Staff Fest between 1-2 pm (you will be video-conferenced in). The final vote will be done LIVE!

* Gift cards are considered taxable income. Therefore, we must provide employee ID numbers of the winners of the pet contest gift cards to Emory’s Payroll Department for tax purposes.
