National Walking Day

Sponsored by the American Heart Association, National Walking Day is celebrated on the first Wednesday of April. The annual event is a call-to-action to increase physical activity by starting with a community walk during the workday. At Emory, employees can participate in several organized group walks held across Emory University and Emory Healthcare.

National Walking Day is April 1, 2026! Take some time to step away and enjoy a walk, whether you are working from home or at an Emory location. We are using this day to kick off our physical activity campaign and to get your teams energized and ready for 'Move More May’hem'.

The Health and Well-being Team, in collaboration with RecWell, Staff Council, Big Peach Running Co., and other partners across Emory, will be hosting an event on April 1, 2026, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at McDonough Field on Emory University’s Atlanta Campus. Add the event to your calendar.
