About this Campaign

Who is eligible?

Sleep and Recovery is open to all benefits-eligible employees, as well as spouses and Pre-65 retirees on an Emory medical plan.

When is it?

Sleep and Recovery takes place from July 1 - August 31, 2025.

What are the activities?

To earn your medical plan well-being incentive or be eligible for a Healthy Emory reward, you must complete all 5 activities: the Snooze Soundly Challenge, read 2 articles, and watch 2 videos. You can access these activities using Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare).

READ THE SLEEP & RECOVERY ARTICLES (JULY 1 – AUGUST 31)

  1. Defining the Different Types of Insomnia: Insomnia can take several forms. Here’s what you need to understand about the symptoms you may be experiencing.
  2. Why Poor Sleep Could Derail Weight Loss, Increase Heart Disease Risk: Learn why shortchanging your sleep could trigger sugar craving and lead to overeating.

You must fully read each article to receive credit.

WATCH THE SLEEP & RECOVERY VIDEOS (JULY 1 – AUGUST 31)

  1. How can lack of sleep contribute to heart disease: A lack of sleep is associated with an increased risk of heart disease for various reasons. Cardiologist Suzanne Steinbaum, DO, explains why good sleep hygiene and 7-8 hours of quality sleep are so important to maintaining heart health.
  2. How Can Sleep Position Affect Health?: The way you sleep can impact your appearance and health. Internist and sleep medicine expert, Carol Ash, DO, reveals the best sleep position for your health.

To receive credit for this activity, you must watch the entire video.

COMPLETE THE SNOOZE SOUNDLY CHALLENGE (AUGUST 1 - AUGUST 31)

Did you know that 1 in 7 Americans don't get the recommended 7 - 9 consecutive hours of sleep daily? Getting enough sleep can improve your memory and reduce feelings of anxiety. Challenge yourself to make small changes in your sleep habits that will make a big difference in your overall health.

Track your sleep for at least 21 days during the challenge period. While the goal is to aim for 7 - 9 hours of sleep, you do not need to meet this target to complete the challenge—focus on consistent tracking. Enable your automatic sleep tracker to make it easier to track. Ensure you visit the app every few days to sync your tracker.
