Mentoring and Coaching

To adequately prepare for retirement, you need to address not only the financial, but also the emotional and psychological aspects that come with such a significant change. That is why Emory offers an opportunity for you to learn directly from someone who has already made the transition.

For Staff Members

With Emory's Retirement Peer Coaching Program, you can be matched with a peer retirement coach, someone who has already successfully retired from Emory. Once matched, you will meet with your coach for approximately three sessions to help you plan for some of the challenges you will soon face as a new retiree.

All peer coaches are trained by the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) and will help you explore your goals, set your vision, and provide you with a positive, holistic approach to preparing for your retirement.

To be matched with a peer coach, contact FSAP at 404-727-4328 or eFSAP@emory.edu.

For Faculty

Transitioning to retirement can be particularly hard for faculty members who often define themselves by their life's work. Through the Emeritus College, a Mentoring Program is available to pre-retiree faculty members to help with the anticipated lifestyle, social, emotional and psychological transition to a fulfilling life in retirement.
