Tell us about your career at Emory.

Amy serves as chief of staff and senior program coordinator at the School of Law.
I’ve served in a variety of roles at Emory Law, including executive assistant to Dean Howard O. Hunter, assistant to Professor Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na'im, senior coordinator, and most recently, chief of staff at the Center for the Study of Law and Religion.
What are some of your favorite memories of your time at Emory?
I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible people—from colleagues and students to visitors from around the world. I’ve made lifelong friendships through Emory and can travel to many places knowing there’s someone there I’ve connected with.

What are some of the most significant changes you have witnessed over the course of your career?
When I started at Emory Law, many still used typewriters, and computers were just being introduced. I was a fast typist but had little experience with word processing. I vividly remember a librarian showing us how to use a search engine with the example “shower curtain rings”—we were amazed by the speed and variety of results!
Is there anything you miss from "back in the day"?
I miss some of the faculty who have since retired or passed away. During my time in the dean’s office, we had a truly outstanding leadership team. It felt like we could accomplish anything. Those were special days.
