Kimberly Collins, 25 Years
Tell us about your career at Emory.
Kim works as an associate university librarian within Woodruff Libraries.
I have served as the Art History librarian for the past twenty-five years, taking on more administrative duties over time. Currently, I lead a division of librarians who manage collections and provide a variety of library services to our faculty and students.
What are some of your favorite memories of your time at Emory?
My colleagues are incredibly creative, which makes library celebrations both funny and fun. One colleague used to write amazing, hilarious poems for every departing staff member. The musical talent among the library staff is also outstanding. I want to revisit the spoof Emory Library newsletters created every April first. They were hysterically funny and incredibly entertaining.

What are some of the most significant changes you have witnessed over the course of your career?
The most significant changes are all of the new buildings.
Is there anything you miss from back in the day?
Before COVID and remote work, I think we laughed more. Sometimes I miss in-person meetings and social events, but I also recognize that Zoom works well for many people.
What do you hope for the future of Emory?
I hope Emory continues to recruit amazing staff and serve our fabulous faculty and students.
