Step it Up Emory is a challenge that gets us moving more as we compete with our co-workers and log our activity.

You can join as an individual, create a team, or join an existing team. Record your progress using Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare) and earn a chance to win a Fitbit or other rewards!

About the Challenge

Who is Eligible?

Step it Up Emory is open to all benefits-eligible employees, as well as spouses and Pre-65 retirees who have health insurance through Emory.

When is it?

Step it Up Emory will run from September 9 - October 6, 2024. You may join the challenge starting September 3, 2024. 

How do I earn my reward?

You must complete the Step it Up Emory Challenge to be eligible for the reward. You can access the challenge through Healthy Emory Connect (Sharecare)

Take 7,000 steps daily or log any physical activity in the NEW Sharecare Activity Tracker to convert activity into steps for 21 days between September 9 and October 6, 2024.

How to Participate

Join the Step it Up Emory Challenge

  1. Create an account or sign in: sharecare.com
  2. Select Achieve > Challenges, and then look for the Step it Up Emory Challenge
  3. Select Join and start tracking your activity

To access the NEW Sharecare Activity Tracker

  1. Create an account or sign in: sharecare.com
  2. Select Track> Activity
  3. Enter the type of activity, like “Kayaking,” and enter the minutes
  4. Check the “Convert minutes to steps” box to ensure all activity is converted to steps

Rewards

Individuals who complete the Step it Up Emory challenge are eligible to win the following rewards:

Note: There is no medical plan well-being incentive for this challenge. 

  • Winning individual (individual with the highest step count): Fitbit
  • Winning team (team with the highest average steps): Chair massages for the team and healthy lunch
  • Best team name (team with the most creative team name): Chair massages for the team and healthy breakfast

Individuals who reach 7,000 steps per day for the challenge's duration (21 days) will earn 1 entry into a raffle for the chance to win one of the following rewards. Individuals who reach over 10,000 steps per day for the challenge (21 days) will earn 2 raffle entries. Massage therapy, personal training sessions, and a one-month membership are redeemable at Blomeyer Health Fitness Center or the Wellness Center at Emory Decatur Hospital.

  • $25 gift card
  • 1 Personal training session (30 minutes)
  • 1 Swedish/therapeutic massage (30 minutes)
  • 1 month membership to a participating Emory fitness facility

Tracking Your 2024 Rewards

  • Sign in to sharecare.com on your web browser or open your Sharecare app.
  • Go to Achieve > Rewards > Healthy Emory Connect.
  • Any completed activities will appear under "Your earned rewards” on the right of your screen. Then click “See All."
  • Or scroll to the bottom and view the “Completed activities” heading, which will have a green checkmark next to all completed activities.

Healthy Emory is partnering with our Well-being Champion network to host weekly walking groups! These groups will kick off on September 9 and end on October 10.  

If you are interested in leading a walk at your site, please get in touch with Healthy Emory to get started.
