Yearbook

Employees receive a personalized Yearbook on each of their milestone anniversaries (5 10, 15, etc.) to celebrate their service to Emory.

Creating the Yearbook

Managers and peers of honorees have the opportunity to submit online comments and (optional) photos to be displayed in the yearbook. All comments and photos submitted by the given deadline will be printed in the yearbook, and those received after the deadline will be available in the online version.

If you’re a manager, follow this step-by-step guide to begin the process for creating a Yearbook for your employee’s milestone.

If you’re a colleague, follow this step-by-step guide to contribute to your colleague’s Yearbook.

Inviting Others

After commenting in an employee’s yearbook, we encourage you to invite others to participate too. You can do this by adding in email addresses after you submit your message, or you can reach out to your HR Representative for a URL you can share directly.

Understanding the Service Date

Employees are recognized for their milestone service anniversary based on their service date. Depending on your Emory career path, your service date may vary.

Employees with continual service

Employees with continual service have a service date that matches their first day of employment at Emory.

For example, if an employee started at Emory on February 18, 2014, their service anniversary would fall on February 18 of each year and milestone anniversaries would occur in 2019, 2024, 2029, etc.

Employees with breaks in service

Employees with breaks in their service may not have an anniversary date that matches the date they originally started working at Emory or the date they returned to Emory. It is calculated based on total time at Emory.

For example, John Employee worked at Emory from January 1, 2000 through July 1, 2003 (3 years, 6 months).  John left Emory for another job, but then returned to Emory on October 1, 2012.  His service date would be April 1, 2009. Go backwards 3 years and 6 months (his original amount of time worked) from his new start date.  Your HR Rep can help you find the service date of your employees in Peoplesoft.

Employees who previously worked at Emory Healthcare

Emory Healthcare employees’ years of service count toward their university length of service.

Opting out of the Yearbook

Emory recognizes the important contributions you make and wants to celebrate you and your service. But we understand that some employees prefer not to celebrate publicly.

Here’s how you can opt out of the Yearbook program:

  1. Log into PeopleSoft Self Service.
  2. Select the Recognition Opt Out tile.
  3. Select the Programs you wish to be excluded from by toggling to “Yes”, then click Save at the bottom of the screen for your selections to be saved.  You can login to PeopleSoft to update your selections at any time.

Please note: if you opt out of the Yearbook program, you will not receive a certificate of recognition. If you will be celebrating 10+ years, you can still select a gift from the catalog.
